Adaptive Ontology Concept

An adaptive ontology is a conventional knowledge representational ontology that has added to it a number of specific best practices:

It attempts to model the ABox and TBox constructs separately
It includes typing information that relates specific types to different and appropriate display templates or visualization components
It includes preferred labels for user interfaces, as well as alternative labels and hidden labels to assist lookups and matches, presented in language neutral means to enable multiple language support
Its concepts and key entities are defined and scoped, and
The design adheres to open world assumptions to enable growth and expansion.
